Program of 9 days desert tour from Marrakech:

Day1: Marrakech - High Atlas Mountains - Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate - Kasbah Amridel - Boumaln Dades

After enjoying a delicious breakfast, prepare for an exciting journey from Marrakesh to Boumalne Dades. Start your expedition by heading east towards the High Atlas Mountains to cross the challenging Tizi n’ Tichka Pass (2,260 meters). Travel to the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou (built in the 17th century), a UNESCO-designated World Heritage site. Upon reaching the next destination, the city of Ouarzazate, famous for its role in cinema and as the gateway to the desert, continue towards the lush palm oases in Skoura, where the ancient Kasbah of Amridil (built in the 17th century) showcases Moroccan heritage and architectural grandeur. Proceed to Kelaat M’Gouna, also called the “Valley of Roses,” to witness the enchanting scent of rose cultivation and the artistry of rose water production in local cooperatives—finally, head to your ultimate stop, Boumalne Dades. Take in the rugged beauty of the Dades Valley, where towering rock formations offer a breathtaking panoramic view. Take a moment to admire the awe-inspiring vistas, each showcasing the finest natural beauty. Spend the night in Boumalne Dades, allowing the memories of your journey to linger in the fresh mountain air.

Day2: Boumalen Dades - Todgha Gorges - Erfoud - Merzouga Desert

After breakfast, you will begin your journey towards the vast desert, leaving behind the famous Boumalne Dades for its stunning panoramic views. Your path will take you through the High Atlas Mountains to Tinghir, where you will stop at the Todgha Valley to discover the captivating Todgha Gorge, one of the largest rocky valleys. You will then travel to Erfoud, acknowledged as Morocco’s largest open-air paleontology museum, to explore the area’s rich paleontological past. Finally, you will arrive in Merzouga, where you will take part in the desert experience with Camel rides, magnificent sunset vistas from the dunes, overnight stays in authentic desert camps, and delicious dinners accompanied by local music. You will also have the chance to enjoy the peacefulness of the desert under a sky adorned with countless stars. Overnight in Desert camp.

Day3: Explore Merzouga desert area by 4x4 Car

After we have breakfast, we’ll commence our journey to discover the Merzouga area. Our first stop will be the Hassilabiad Oasis. Next, we’ll traverse the historic Dakar Rally tracks to visit the nomadic community and gain insight into their way of life. We’ll then proceed to the Khamlia village to experience the unique traditional music known as Gnawa music. After the tour, you’ll have some free time to partake in one of the most renowned activities in the area – exploring the heart of the sand dunes by Quads or ATV (optional). To conclude, we’ll return to the hotel. Overnight in Riad.

Day 4: Merzouga desert - Rissani - Agdez - Anti Atlas Mountains - Ouarzazate

Make sure not to miss the chance to witness the breathtaking sunrise over the dunes, then enjoy a refreshing shower and a delightful breakfast at the camp. After that, continue your journey to Marrakesh, passing through Rissani, renowned for its historical and economic significance. Traverse through desert scenery and the magnificent Atlas Mountains before reaching the expansive Draa Valley, located around 1,200 km away. This valley is situated amidst the Anti-Atlas Mountains and is encircled by extensive palm groves. Finally, you will arrive at Ouarzazate, a city renowned for its connections to the film industry. Day5: Ouarzazate - Taliouine - Taroudant

After your morning meal, proceed on your journey by traveling westerly through the Anti-Atlas Mountains, passing by the Haven Gas Station, a location featured in numerous American films. Next, continue to the town of Taliouine, renowned as the saffron capital. By early afternoon, you will reach the historic city of Taroudant, often called “little Marrakesh.” In the afternoon, please take the opportunity to explore the city and wander through its old quarter, which is enclosed by the impressive Taroudant city wall. This wall is considered the third largest in the world, following the Great Wall of China and the Kumbhalgarh Wall in India. You’ll spend the night at a Riad.

Day6: Taroudant - Agadir - Taghazout - Aghroud - Essaouira
After having breakfast, travel in the westward direction towards the Atlantic Ocean and reach Agadir, the largest city in the area. Spend some time visiting the most well-known tourist spots, including Coco Garden, exploring Agadir Oufella for a panoramic view of the city, and enjoying Agadir Corniche. Then, proceed north along the Atlantic Ocean’s coastline, passing through Berber villages and beautiful beaches. Finally, in the evening, reach the city of Essaouira, also known as the City of Winds, and stay overnight in a Riad.
Day7: Free day to explore Essaouira city

Today is a day of rest,
Immerse yourself in the city’s rich culture within its historic city. Wander the narrow streets, discover history at every turn, and explore the many art galleries showcasing local talent.
Visit Scala, which offers stunning views of the Atlantic coast. Pamper your taste buds with traditional seafood at one of the city’s famous restaurants, savoring the fresh flavors of the sea and local cuisine. Enjoy an unforgettable experience by trying out some activities such as riding camels, horses, or quad bikes along the beach. Don’t forget the opportunity to watch the sunset.

Day8: Essaouira - Marrakech

After Breakfast, you travel east to Marrakesh through extensive areas with unique argan trees known only to this particular region. Here, you can visit one of the cooperatives run by women who produce argan oil, situated all along the route. You are ultimately reaching the vibrant city of Marrakesh. Overnight in a Riad.

Day9: Marrakech sightseeing tour
After breakfast, a qualified and highly experienced guide will await you. He will lead you on an exploratory walking tour through the crowded alleys of Marrakesh to explore and learn about the city’s ancient history, which dates back to the 11th century. The tour will also include a visit to the most important tourist attractions, such as Jemaa el-Fna Square, the Koutoubia Mosque, and the Bahia Palace.
